Our Operations

One Rail Australia > Our Operations

One Rail Australia operates along the eastern seaboard of Australia, however our operational accreditation in all mainland states of Australia, allows our business to assess new operations beyond our current footprint.

Under our management we currently have 51 locomotives and 1,468 wagons in operations. Our fleet services 8 load points in NSW and 7 load points in QLD, however we consistently look for opportunities to broaden our operational footprint and service new markets.

New South Wales

The Hunter Valley coal chain is the largest coal export operation in the world, consisting of 35 coal mines owned by 11 coal producers, 450 kilometres of coal haulage track, more than 30 load points for loading coal into trains, three terminals and the movement of more than 1600 coal vessels annually.

Our NSW Operations consist of:

  • A Corporate office in Sydney
  • An Operations centre in Mayfield West
  • A maintenance facility in Carrington
  • A depot in Muswellbrook

One Rail Australia is proud to be a major contributor to the positive outcomes the Hunter Valley Coal Chain provides for the people of the Hunter region and NSW.

Queensland

One Rail Australia plays a vital role in linking the coal fields in the Bowen Basin to the global export market via the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal at Port of Hay Point. The Bowen Basin covers an area of approximately 60,000 square kilometres and contains approximately 70% of Queensland’s coal.

Our Queensland operations consist of:

  • An operations facility in Sarina
  • A maintenance facility in Paget

With just over 50 mines currently in operation or under construction in central Queensland, One Rail Australia is focused on expanding our operations to service the needs of our existing and new customers.
