At One Rail Australia, building strong, lasting relationships with the communities in which we operate is more than a commitment, it’s part of who we are. This year, that commitment came to life through the first year of the One Rail Australia (ORA) Community Support Program (CSP).
Launched to support local organisations making a genuine difference in our community, the CSP reflects One Rail’s belief that meaningful community impact starts with strong partnerships. Guided by our corporate values, acting with genuine intent and embracing a One Team approach, the program supports organisations whose work aligns with our focus on care, inclusion, safety and connection.
In its first year, the CSP provided over $100,000 in funding through two application rounds, supporting a diverse range of charities and grassroots organisations across our operational regions. These groups provide important, often unseen work that helps communities thrive, supporting young people, families, people living with disability, those experiencing financial hardship, and individuals navigating mental health challenges.
From youth development and disability services to suicide prevention, financial wellbeing, family support and community sport, the organisations supported through the CSP represent the heart of our communities. Each one shares a common goal: creating positive change and strengthening the places we live and work.
Throughout the year, our staff had the privilege of meeting some of the organisations; hearing their stories, learning about their challenges, and celebrating the impact they make every day. These connections reinforce why the Community Support Program exists: to stand alongside local organisations as a genuine partner, not just a funder.
As we reflect on the program’s first year, we’re incredibly proud of what has been achieved, and even more excited about what’s ahead. Applications for the next CSP funding round open in March, and we encourage eligible organisations to apply.
