About the Role
One Rail Australia is seeking an experienced Rollingstock Maintenance Supervisor to join the New South Wales Maintenance team and support the growing maintenance operation in New South Wales. The Rollingstock Maintenance Supervisor will play a key role in guaranteeing the ongoing operations of ORA’s Rollingstock in the Hunter region and become part of key part of One Rail Australia’s maintenance team in the Hunter Valley.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Safe Systems of Work are utilised for all maintenance activities.
- Execute Workshop Maintenance for Locomotives and Wagons.
- Act as the Workshop/Maintenance Contact for all rollingstock movements.
- Act as the authorised person for all rollingstock isolations within the ORA Maintenance Facility.
- Supervision of Day Work and Shift Work Maintainers and Contractors.
- Conduct Pre-Start meetings and assign tasks (Day Work and Afternoon Shifts).
- Facilitate Light Vehicle Inspections.
- Authorise leave approvals and oversee timekeeping for ALL Maintainers.
- Liaise with the Maintenance Planner to schedule resourcing against the workshop plan, UTM/FX train examinations and training.
- Provide technical support with the maintainer on all maintenance activities.
- Document Workshop Status Reports.
- Be available as the after hours On-Call contact for all rollingstock failures (week on/week off).
- Process ordering of equipment, parts, and tools in line with delegations of authority.
- Follow up incident, near miss and hazard reporting to ensure actions are documented and closed out.
- Conduct effective communication with direct reports on all matters affecting the team.
- Ensure all work is correctly documented and closed out in the Asset Management System (AMS/Hexagon).
About You
We are seeking a motivated, team orientated and safety conscious Rollingstock Maintenance Supervisor, who is looking to take the next step in their career. You will have similar working experience, have the ability to manage time effectively and have a high level of quality in output of work.
Qualifications
- Trade or Tertiary Qualified with demonstrated experience in similar role.
- Training in Leadership
- Motor Vehicle Licence (Class C)
Experience
- Demonstrated front-line leadership experience in Rail, Maritime, Mining or Production environments.
- Experience in incident investigations (ICAM desirable).
- Use of computerised maintenance management systems. (SAP, MAXIMO, or AMS/Hexagon desirable)
