About the Role:

Support the senior payroll officer to establish and control the payment of wages and salaries and ensure the maintenance of related information.

The payroll coordinator will be the backup payroll contact in the absence or unavailability of the senior payroll officer.

The payroll coordinator will also provide general administrative support for the broader Human Resources and training function at One Rail.

In addition to the above, your key responsibilities will also include:

  • To assist in the facilitation of the effective, efficient, and timely delivery of the payroll functions for the organisation.
  • Assist to ensure income statements are prepared and distributed in a timely manner.
  • Support the processing and reconciliation of payroll, payroll tax and superannuation payments and authorised payroll deductions.
  • Provide payroll information to management for budgets and special projects.
  • Liaise where necessary with the human resources group to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Liaising with depot managers and roster staff to ensure that timesheets are available on a timely basis for the smooth processing of payroll.
  • Communication between Accounting staff and Frontier to ensure that customer coding is accurate, and updates are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide general support to the HR and training functions as requested and directed from time to time. This includes data entry and document control as requested.

Qualifications & Experience:

No formal qualifications required.

Skills and Competencies:

Essential:

  • Min 3 – 5 years’ Experience
  • Time2work Knowledge

Desirable

  • Knowledge of general accounting and payroll principals
  • An ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Well organised and customer service orientated.
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to succeed and achieve under pressure.
  • Exceptional ability to work autonomously as well as in a team.
